Silvan Ridge Winery 2019 Pinot Gris
Three generations of women
The Silvan Ridge story is a story of three generations of women.
It all started with Carolyn Chambers, a well-known business and civic leader with deep roots in Eugene. She purchased the Hinman Vineyard property in 1993. Before long, she changed the name to Silvan Ridge to honor her maiden name, “Silva”.
Carolyn then convinced her daughter, Elizabeth Chambers, to take on the role of general manager. Liz quickly caught the wine bug and Silvan Ridge into a high-quality producer and leading winery in the Eugene area.
Along the way, Liz launched her own well-known label – Elizabeth Chambers Cellar. By 2012, after Carolyn’s death, Elizabeth was running both labels.
Sadly, Liz passed away just five years later. But her passion for wine lives on in her daughter, Julia Chambers Stiltner, who runs the wine business alongside her husband, Andrew Stiltner.
Julia and Andrew are revitalizing this historic brand with new energy and making some extraordinary wines.

Silvan Ridge Winery, Eugene, Oregon
2019 Pinot Gris
The Eugene area is famous for its Pinot Gris wines, particularly after King Estate – one of the largest producers in the country – put it on the world stage.
The famed New York Times wine critic Eric Asimov says “Oregon Pinot Gris is one of the least-talked-about, best-value wines on the market today.” This Pinot Gris from nearby Silvan Ridge shows us why.
This crisp and lovely Pinot Gris is so much more complex than your average Pinot Gris.
It is reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc, with a lovely minerality racing through the wine. Gooseberries and citrus flavors jump out of the glass. The herbal, grassy qualities are really what make this wine stand out from the pack and make it a natural pairing for seafood, especially oysters on the half shell!
