Umpqua Valley
Established in 1984, the Umpqua Valley AVA contains many microclimates due to the convergence of the Cascade and Coast mountain ranges and the Umpqua River. Diversity of the region has inspired a culture of experimentation with varieties not commonly grown elsewhere in Oregon.
The Umpqua Valley includes two small sub-AVAs: Red Hill Douglas County and Elkton. Its 3350 acres are home to Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Syrah, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Albariño , Grüner Veltliner, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.
