Italian Varietals
August 2022
We're excited to be exploring the world of Italian varietals grown in Oregon this month.
There are a growing number of innovative winemakers who are challenging the ideal of the typical Oregon wine. They know that Italian grapes are unique in this land of Pinot Noir are food-friendly, versatile wines.
For wine lovers looking to explore different styles right here in our own backyard, this is a great chance to try some unique, exceptional Italian style wines with an Oregon twist.
Our first red is a Nebbiolo from Gersing Cellars, an urban winery in Portland. Our second red a Barbera from Seven of Hearts Wine, only the second Barbera we’ve ever featured!.
Our first white is the Vaso Bianco from Cana’s Feast, a blend of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Traminer, and Moscato. And our second white is a traditional Italian-style Pinot Grigio from Apolloni Vineyards.
