For the last nine years, Carrie has dedicated herself to introducing people to amazing small producers of Oregon wine. Throughout those years Liz and I have watched her feature over 425 wines from 200 wineries — we have always not only been among her biggest champions but we have also been among the producers that she has helped grow. I am honored that she would entrust me with the future of Cellar 503 and as a member, you have my commitment to giving my all in an effort to fill these very large shoes. I am grateful that we will always have Carrie as a mentor and guide but most of all the use of her palate. I hope you will join all of us here at Cellar 503 in supporting & celebrating her next adventure!

In all honesty, I found that picking this first set of wines was both terrifying and exhilarating. Early in the selection process, Carrie encouraged me to take the lead on both the theme and wine selection for the July release so that we could get to know one another better through these wines. I struggled with the theme at first but really felt strongly that each wine should have an inherent connection to what wine means to me. So to celebrate my first foray into sharing the wines I am inspired by, July's wines were chosen in deference to the amazing adventures that can be had by chasing the grape to the glass and the inspiring humans you meet along the way.
