Sense of Place 2024
January 2024
Sense of Place
The term "sense of place" (according to our wiki friends) has been used in many different ways. It is a multidimensional, complex construct used to characterize the relationship between people and spatial settings. A characteristic that some geographic places have and some do not, while to others it is a feeling or perception held by people (not by the place itself). It is often used in relation to those characteristics that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that foster a sense of authentic human attachment and belonging.
David & Diana Lett started it all and so we thought we should all start off the year with a little SPARK to inspire us all to celebrate daily and pave the way for others.
From there we take you to a very special Cellar 503 sneak peak, chosen by none other than our Oregon Wine Press - Person of the Year...See page 46 for the article and all of the other pages of this years almanac for cool Oregon wine stats.
Since we were in the Applegate Valley with Herb's choice, we decided to stay and do a deep dive on his 'hood. We hope that through these wines you get a better sense for the Oregon spirit and better understand the "sense of place" that we call the Applegate Valley. This will be the first of several "deep dives" we have planned for 2024 from throughout the state.
